چکیده

A new approach for process controllability analysis by using multiobjective optimisation techniques is proposed. Within the approach, a set of performance specifications, such as minimum control error and input effort with closed-loop pole placement are represented as a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). The solution to the LMI conditions can be identified as feasible or infeasible. If the solution is feasible there is at least one controller that Partially supported by the EPSRC UK grant GR/R57324 To whom correspondence should be addressed. Email:[email protected]

Interaction of Design and Control: Optimization with Dynamic Models

Process design is usually approached by considering the steady-state performance of the process based on an economic objective. Only after the process design is determined are the operability aspects of the process considered. This sequential treatment of the process design problem neglects the fact that the dynamic controllability of the process is an inherent property of its design. This work...

Xergy analysis and multiobjective optimization of a biomass gasification-based multigeneration system

Biomass gasification is the process of converting biomass into a combustible gas suitable for use in boilers, engines, and turbines to produce combined cooling, heat, and power. This paper presents a detailed model of a biomass gasification system and designs a multigeneration energy system that uses the biomass gasification process for generating combined cooling, heat, and electricity. Energy...

Process Synthesis , Design , and Control : a Mixed - Integer Optimal Controlframeworkc

A mixed-integer optimal control framework for analyzing the interaction of process synthesis, design, and control is presented in this paper. The approach integrates the economic design and dynamic controllability into a multiobjective Mixed-Integer Optimal Control Problem (MIOCP). The problem formulation includes dynamic models and incorporates both discrete and continuous decisions. An algori...

Norm based approaches for Integrated Design of Wastewater treatment plants

In this work the Integrated Design (ID) of the activated sludge process of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has been performed, including a linear multivariable predictive controller with constraints. In the Integrated Design procedure, the process parameters are obtained simultaneously with the parameters of the control system by solving a multiobjective constrained non-linear optimization ...

The Position of Multiobjective Programming Methods in Fuzzy Data Envelopment Analysis

Traditional Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models evaluate the efficiency of decision making units (DMUs) with common crisp input and output data. However, the data in real applications are often imprecise or ambiguous. This paper transforms fuzzy fractional DEA model constructed using fuzzy arithmetic, into the conventional crisp model. This transformation is performed considering the goal pr...
